Before Black Friday MTV Multiplayer sorts through the best tech goodies and games.By Russ Frushtick

With the start of the holiday shopping season looming, MTV’s Multiplayer blog is helping you sort through the loads of goodies lining shelves this year. On Wednesday, we focused on games to watch out for this holiday, and here we’re focusing on what to get the Apple people in your life.
You know Apple people; they’re the ones who complain about having to use a Windows computer at work and who wear the latest iPod on their front lapel like it’s a pocket square. Thankfully, there are plenty of gifts this holiday season for the Mac-minded, with a wide range in price points, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding them the perfect thing to gloat about.
The Stocking Stuffers
If you’re not looking to break the bank, there’s a new version of the iPod Shuffle which comes with 2GB of storage space and is about the size of a postage stamp. At $49, it makes for a good Secret Santa option and is a great gift for runners, since it’s able to clip on to any piece of clothing.
Of course, another cheap alternative, if you’re concerned that an iPod might be too personal, is just to get an iTunes gift card. They come in a variety of denominations and Apple sells holiday-themed cards in their stores. This is a solid option if you know someone already has an iPhone or an iPod Touch, since they can use it for apps, games, music or movies.
The Mid-Range
If you’re comfortable spending a little more dough (or you’re not the one paying), there’s also a new version of the iPod Nano which starts at $150 for an 8GB model, though the 16GB for $180 is the smarter buy. The new Nano uses the same touch screen technology found on the iPhone, so you can swipe through your songs, but it’s only slightly larger than the new Shuffle, which makes it perfect for morning commutes. It too has a clip, allowing you to stick it anywhere.
And then there’s the top-of-the-line iPod, the new iPod Touch. It has the same functionality as the iPhone 4, but without the service plan. It can still handle video chat, though, and has a higher resolution screen than past models. The new iPod Touch starts at $229 for the 8GB model and can act as a fallback computer, presuming you have WiFi. Great for gamers, too, since it’ll run all the games on the App Store swimmingly.
The High End
You’ve likely heard all about the iPad (starting at $499), and if you’re buying something for a big anniversary (or you’re feeling really guilty), it’s sure to get the response you’re looking for. It’s also great for people that travel, as the battery life can get you from New York to L.A. and back again on a single charge.
And then there’s the MacBook Air, which starts at $999 for the 11 inch model. Razor thin at the edge and coming in at just over 2 pounds, the Air is small enough to fit in a messenger bag and make you forget it’s even in there. It’s as powerful as the standard MacBooks from just a year ago, and so long as you’re not doing intensive video or photo editing, it can handle day-to-day work like a pro. An added bonus: It’s so small, you don’t need to take it out of your bag at the airport. Yep, the TSA gave it a pass. Unfortunately, that pass doesn’t apply to you and your baggy pants.
Tune in to Multiplayer.MTV.com on Friday, as we’ll be looking at the latest gaming headsets and gear to help make your winter break an unproductive one!
Most artists don’t have MTV knocking at their door to shoot a documentary before they’ve even released their first album. But most artists aren’t Nicki Minaj. Nicki Minaj’s rise to fame has been nothing short of meteoric. Taylor Swift may have sold albums like hotcakes this year, and Lady Gaga may be keeping paparazzi shooting [...]

Well folks we’ve either reached the end of the Internet or we’ve reached some kind of sparkling new cultural dawn. Or both, or neither. But what we have done is found an amazing Tumbrl that takes your favorite stars, Photoshops their faces into various forms of bread and gives them funny, bread-related names. It’s [...]
Tuesday was definitely momentous in the world of late-night television. Not only was the world gifted with Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen’s version of the Willow Smith hit “Whip My Hair,” but Rihanna brought joy and music to Late Show With David Letterman.
While Ri-Ri had plenty of hair to whip back and forth herself, sporting a long, bright-red wig, she kept things brief in the wardrobe department while arriving for her taping, showing off her gams in a pair of shredded jean shorts and black leggings.
What do you think of Rihanna’s Letterman look? Let us know in the comments section,…
When it was originally announced that Danny McBride, James Franco, Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel would be starring in a comedic action/adventure fantasy set in medieval times, it immediately went straight to the top of my “films to watch for” list. The red-band trailer for that movie, titled “Your Highness” (yes, it is a double [...]

It’s been a busy week for Rihanna. If she has a personal assistant (and I think that’s a safe assumption) then I bet said personal assistant is in full tripping out of her heels, pencil holding up her hair, glasses falling down face, manically BlackBerrying and scheduling mode.
Over the weekend her video, for [...]
Em takes his mentor to task for his perfectionist ways on emotionally charged Detox track.By Jayson Rodriguez

Eminem turned to Dr. Dre to help him get out of his funk when the two hit the studio to work on the Detroit lyricist’s post-hiatus comeback LP, Relapse. Now, it looks like the tables have turned.
On Dre’s “I Need a Doctor” — the second leak in as many days from the producer’s long-awaited Detox — Em lowers the boom on his mentor saying his “perfectionist” rep is leaving the legend stuck in the mud.
“It hurts when I see you struggle/ You come to me with ideas/ You say they’re pieces, so I’m puzzled,” Eminem raps over the Alex da Kid produced-number. ” ‘Cause the sh– I hear is crazy/ But you’re either getting lazy/ Or don’t believe in you no more/ Seem like your own opinion is not one you can form/ Can’t make a decision/ You keep questioning yourself, second guessing, it’s almost like you’re begging for my help/ Like I’m your leader, you’re supposed to be my mentor/ I can endure no more/ Don’t you remember who you are.”
Throughout the track, an emotionally charged Eminem references his own struggles and Dre’s assistance and notes the super-producer’s personal troubles as well, citing his son’s death. Dre then rhymes about the pair’s history, from “Guilty Conscience” to his own indecisiveness.
“Went through friends, some of them I put on, but they just left,” Dre raps. “They said they was riding to the death/ But where the f— are they now, now that I need them?/ I don’t see any of them, all I see is Slim.”
Last month, Eminem revealed he and Dre were in the studio, presumably putting the final touches on Detox. “I’m in the studio with Dre now, let’s just say that,” Em said in an interview on his Shade 45 satellite radio station. “Pretty soon he’s going to make a beat and I might rap on it.”
Do you think Dre’s Detox will ever be completed? Tell us in the comments!

After picking up his adorable daughter Ava from school on Tuesday, Hollywood big-shot Hugh Jackman carried her on his shoulders to a playground in New York’s West Village for an afternoon of delight.
Jackman’s upcoming projects include Movie 43 with Snooki, an uncharacteristic raunchy comedy for him, and the Darren Aronofsky helmed The Wolverine, which according to the famed director will not be a “sequel in the conventional sense” to 2009′s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Rep tells MTV News ‘Sonny with a Chance’ star ‘remains committed,’ despite false reports that she would leave for Thanksgiving.By Jocelyn Vena

On Wednesday (November 17), reports surfaced that Demi Lovato had plans to leave her treatment facility next week to spend Thanksgiving with her family. Sources told E! News that the Disney star hoped to be home for the holiday.
However, a rep for the starlet denies that report in a statement to MTV News. “Recent reports stating that Demi Lovato will be out of treatment by Thanksgiving are false,” the rep tells us. “While she would of course love to be home for the holidays, she remains committed first and foremost to her treatment.”
The rep goes on to say that “Demi has made tremendous progress to date, but understands that she has more work to do. Unfortunately, the news outlet that reported this story originally failed to call us for comment or to fact check the story before it was printed.”
Lovato quit her tour with the Jonas Brothers about two weeks ago to deal with “emotional and physical issues.” Last week, Disney released a statement noting that they would revamp Lovato’s series, “Sonny With a Chance,” to reflect her absence, focusing the story line on the inner-workings of the sketch-comedy program Lovato’s character, Sonny, appears on, “So Random!”
“This allows her the time she needs to get well, without distraction or pressure,” a Disney Channel spokesperson said. “Again, we extend our ongoing support to Demi and her family as she works to overcome personal issues.”
The show’s new format will focus on a beefed-up version of “So Random!” packed with guest stars, performances and digital shorts. Shooting for the revamped show will kick off in January, as originally scheduled.
Send your well-wishes to Demi Lovato in the comments section below.
